There is a high risk of accidents for field sales staff, who spend 90 per cent of their time working on motorbikes every day. This is due to of the heavy traffic in Vietnam, a fading awareness of safe driving, and a lack of skills to react to sudden incidents on the roads.
To raise awareness among the company’s employees about safe driving, and to help reduce traffic accidents across the country, Mondelez Kinh Do has organised a defensive driver training initiative for sales supervisors, area managers, and operations managers at all sales channels nationwide.
The training took place in six locations across the country, including Vinh, Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phu Quoc.
The training agenda highlights Mondelēz International’s safety standards and follows the Ministry of Transport’s safety regulations.
The scheme has updated Mondelez Kinh Do’s employees on the traffic laws, raised awareness about the risk of traffic accidents, and boosted their ability to analyse and identify hazards in common situations that may cause accidents.
Besides the updated knowledge needed to ensure safe driving, the trainees had a chance to practice checking their vehicle before driving it, performing safety checks and responding to different safety-related conditions.
The training is one of the various practical activities that show the company is emphasising its employees’ wellbeing.
