Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam advances women’s empowerment in The digital age

Building on the success of a recent e-commerce skills training conference for local handicraft businesses, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam continues its collaboration with the Women’s Union of Thuong Tin District, Hanoi to organize another training conference on e-commerce skills for women starting business in the district. This initiative underscores Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam’s ongoing commitment to empowering women in the digital era. Through its collaboration with the Women’s Union of Thuong Tin District, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam supports the implementation of the National Strategy on Gender Equality, the Government’s Project to Support Women Who Start Business in the Period 2017–2025, and the Project targeting women with ideas and those who wish to start a business, the cooperative groups and cooperation communes, affiliated groups, and recently established businesses owned by women.

Operating in Duyen Thai commune, Thuong Tin district, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has worked closely with local authorities and organizations to support community and socio-economic development. Especially, the partnership with the Women’s Union of Thuong Tin District has positively impacted thousands of women in the area. The company’s EkoCenter Community Support Center has been instrumental, offering training programs on entrepreneurship, business skills, and the preservation and promotion of traditional crafts.

The latest training conference, which accommodated more than 700 members of the Women’s Union of Thuong Tin District, was divided into morning and afternoon sessions. Participants received comprehensive information about Vietnam’s e-commerce landscape, major e-commerce platforms, and effective online store management techniques. They also learned practical skills for conducting live streams and attracting customers on e-commerce platforms.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Thuong Tin District, expressed her gratitude: “We highly value the support and contributions of Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam. Their practical programs, especially in technology and entrepreneurship training, have significantly empowered local women, helping them gain control over their lives and contribute to societal development. With Coca-Cola Vietnam’s support, we believe the women’s movement in Thuong Tin district will continue to thrive, benefiting both union members and the wider community.”

The EkoCenter Community Support Center, launched in 2015, has provided diverse community benefits, including clean drinking water, women’s empowerment, youth development, waste management, and emergency relief.

In Duyen Thai commune and Thuong Tin District, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has partnered with numerous domestic and international organizations to support community activities and promote economic and social development. Initiatives include the “Zero Dong Tet Market” in collaboration with the Central Vietnam Red Cross Association and the “Happy Tet with Coca-Cola” program, which provides Tet gifts to disadvantaged households. Other efforts involve supporting exam season programs, building bridge, providing clean water, protecting the environment, empowering women, and aiding families and children in need through the EkoCenter Community Support Center.
