Nvidia Corporation, a U.S. chip manufacturing giant, inked a deal with Vietnam’s leading technology firm FPT this morning, April 23, to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) venture, according to local media reports.
Under the memorandum of understanding, FPT intends to invest US$200 million in setting up an AI facility leveraging Nvidia’s cutting-edge technology, including graphics chips and software.
The facility aims to bolster AI research and development capabilities, enabling the creation of advanced applications and solutions, with a focus on AI generation (GenAI), autonomous vehicles, and green transformation.
“We are dedicated to positioning Vietnam as a global hub for AI innovation,” Truong Gia Binh, chairman of FPT Corporation, said at the signing ceremony in Hanoi.
FPT and Nvidia will collaborate to cultivate high-caliber AI professionals while facilitating the practical application of AI across diverse industries.
FPT seeks to integrate Nvidia’s training materials into the standard curriculum at FPT University and other educational institutions, targeting the participation of at least 30,000 students over a five-year period.
Also in this event, Nvidia named FPT as a service delivery partner within its network, specializing in offering software, hardware, cloud computing services, and integrated AI solutions utilizing Nvidia technology. The partnership will also extend to the development of cloud gaming services in Vietnam through the deployment of GeForce Now infrastructure and services.
