Vietjet celebrates 10 years of robust air connectivity between Vietnam and South Korea, expanding its network with a new route linking Daegu with Nha Trang

Jul 5, 2024

Vietjet has celebrated a decade of sky connection journey between Vietnam and South Korea with the announcement of a new route between Nha Trang and Daegu at the Vietnam–South Korea Tourism Promotion and Cultural Cooperation Forum in Seoul.

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with senior leaders from both nations, congratulated Vietjet on this significant milestone and appreciated the announcement of the new route during the Prime Minister’s official visit to South Korea.

Under the witness of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung gave the Commemorative medal to congratulate Vietjet on its 10-year journey connecting Vietnam and South Korea

Since its inaugural flight in July 2014, Vietjet has in the past decade continually expanded its flight network, transporting ten million passengers on 37 regular and charter services between Vietnam and South Korea, and this number continues to grow steadily. The airline has played a pivotal role in facilitating convenient travel between the two countries, significantly boosting economic, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange relations.

Vietjet currently operates the most extensive flight network between Vietnam and South Korea, linking Vietnam’s top cities and leisure destinations of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Da Lat with major South Korean cities such as Seoul, Busan, and Daegu. In 2023, Vietnam welcomed 12.6 million international visitors, with a staggering 3.6 million arriving from South Korea alone, solidifying South Korea as Vietnam’s largest and most significant source market.

On this occasion, the airline also announces the launch of a new route connecting Vietnam’s coastal city of Nha Trang with Daegu, a major city located in southeastern South Korea, which receives congratulations and welcome of senior leaders and businesses of both countries. The new route is scheduled to begin on October 27, 2024, with seven round-trip flights per week.

Daegu, one of the largest cities in South Korea, offers numerous tourist attractions such as Palgongsan Mountain, the Cosmos fields, and a variety of renowned parks like Apsan Park, Woobang Tower, Daegu Arboretum, Mangwoo Park, Gyeongsan-gamyeong Park, and Gukchaebosang Memorial Park. Meanwhile, Nha Trang is a famous coastal city in Vietnam and globally, often referred to as the “Pearl of the East Sea,” known for its mild climate, rich culture, and diverse cuisine.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietjet promptly operated flights to safely repatriate stranded residents of Daegu. With the resumption of flights to Daegu today, Vietjet is confident that it will further contribute to the robust local economic development.

Passengers flying with Vietjet can enjoy flying on a modern fleet, served by professional, friendly, and dedicated crews, and savor Vietnamese culinary specialties like Banh Mi, Pho Thin, coffee, as well as international meals featuring hot, nutritious and fresh dishes.

The new Nha Trang – Daegu route not only connects these two destinations but also expands Vietjet’s network across Vietnam and internationally to destinations in Australia, India, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia, creating more opportunities for cultural exchange, education, economic development, and tourism between nations.
