NVIDIA leaders come to Vietnam on AI, semiconductor cooperation

Apr 23, 2024

Keith Strier, vice president of NVIDIA, Worldwide AI Initiatives, and his delegation have arrived in Vietnam for discussions on cooperation in the artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor industries.

The visit marks the second time NVIDIA leaders have visited Vietnam, following President and CEO Jensen Huang’s visit late last year.

On Monday, April 22, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung met with Keith Strier to further the commitments made during Jensen Huang’s Vietnam visit. The meeting signifies a significant step in reinforcing collaboration between the two sides and advancing the development of a semiconductor and AI ecosystem in Vietnam.

During the discussions, Minister Dung shared insights into Vietnam’s development strategies in the AI and semiconductor industries, highlighting plans for human resource development and improvements in the business environment. This exchange of information lays the groundwork for potential partnerships between Vietnam and NVIDIA.

Following the meeting with Minister Dung, Keith Strier will engage with various ministries, departments, localities, and businesses in Vietnam to explore opportunities for cooperation in the AI and semiconductor industries.

During his visit to Vietnam in December last year, Jensen Huang praised Vietnam’s potential in these sectors, particularly its skilled workforce, expressing optimism about establishing a significant innovation and production center in the country.
